Identifying emotions is important in effective communication. When listening attentively, it is necessary to be able to identify a precise feeling and use an accurate word to express it.The following words describe a range of feelings people experience in different situations. Even though there are many more feeling words than can be listed here, refer to this list when you are practicing the skill of attentive listening or when you feel stuck.
